After visiting Mahatma Gandhi house in New Delhi in India, I’ve become fascinated by this great human being who organized Indian resistance, fought anti-Indian legislation in the courts and led large protests against the British colonial government. During his life Mahatma Gandhi developed a philosophy of truth-focused, non-violent non-cooperation he called Satyagraha. Being in India inspired me to seek his energy and charisma through the colors I’ve chosen for this painting.
